Hiatus
I recently had to move and it took me some time to get things in order. With that in mind I thought I would get some stuff ready for 2009. Therefore, the site will be on an extended hiatus until Jan 1, 2009.
Happy Holidays!

Scorpions Album Cover No Longer Banned...
Access to the Wikipedia entry was blocked after fears that the cover, featuring a nude girl would be illegal. About 95% British users were unable to access the page once Internet Providers agreed to enforce a ban of the page.
The Internet Watch Foundation lifted the restrictions after taking into account “the length of time the image has existed and its wide availability”.
In a statement the IWF stated "IWF's overriding objective is to minimize the availability of indecent images of children on the internet, however, on this occasion our efforts have had the opposite effect." They acknowledged the growth in people trying to seek out the cover after they started the ban.

Wal-mart Must Pay!
The suit, that includes about 100,000 current and former employees, alleged that the discount store cut workers break time and did not prevent employees from working off the clock.
This is not the first time that the company has been in this sort of trouble. In fact, it is being reported that Wal-mart has faced 76 similar class-action lawsuits in courts across the country. In one case (California) they were ordered to pay $172 million for illegally denying lunch breaks.

Guilty!
Audun Carlsen, a 29-year-old male escort from Norway said he went to George's home to be photographed last winter when the singer attacked him and chained him to a wall in his bedroom last April.
Boy George denied the allegations and accused the escort of stealing photographs from his laptop. He declined to testify on his own behalf during the trial though recordings from an interview with police was played.
Carlsen claimed that the story about missing photographs was untrue and that the former 80's pop-star/turned dj was angry with him for not having sex and therefore was chained.
George, whose real name is George O'Dowd, was told by Judge David Radford, "The fact that your bail is being continued does not imply that this will be dealt with by a non-custodial sentence." The judge also noted that jailtime is "likely".
He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 16.

Boy George Admits It.....

Boy George, former Culture Club lead singer, was arrested last year on charges of "false imprisonment" of male escort Audun Carlsen.
On trial this week in London the singer ( in a police recorded statement) said that he restrained a male escort with handcuffs. He denies that he tried to assault Mr. Carlsen or that he swung a chain at him.
The singer - real name George O'Dowd - told police that he feared the escort had been tampering with his laptop and thus, he had handcuffed Mr. Carlsen while he investigated.
The singer also said in the interview that killing the escort "wouldn't have done my career any good".
The trial continues.............

Cardboard Figure Holds Up A Bank....
Police arrive and after spotting someone in the window of the bank (blinds drawn) evacuate people in nearby apartments for safety.
With the area sealed the officers then used bullhorns and made telephone calls in an attempt to make contact with the suspected robber.
After some time and failing to get a response out of the person in the bank the SWAT team then enter the building and soon discover that there wasn't anyone in the bank....only a cardboard figure.
It is unknown what set off the alarm.
