Akai Professional APC40 Controller

Designed in partnership with software developer Ableton, the ApC40 was developed specifically for Ableton Live software.



The APC40 is to be a powerful controller for hip-hop producers, electronic musicians, DJs and traditional musicians using Ableton Live in the studio and on the stage.



The APC40 communicates bi-directionally with Live, which enables the controller to display information from the software on its clip maxtrix of 40 triggers and on LED rings surrounding each knob. The clip matrix provides an instant view of clip status (what is loaded, playing, and what is recorded).



The controller comes with a special edition of Ableton Live Lite. there is also a special patch for current users to upgrade to full versions of Live.

DJ Kicks: Flying Lotus? Burial? On The Way

Producer Flying Lotus is on tap to mix an edition of the very successful 'DJ Kicks' series. Also, it is rumored that there will also be a mix from, UK producer, Burial. There is no firm release date for either at this time.

Burial has been receiving praise for his debut album 'Burial' released in 2006 and his second 'Untrue' released in 2007. He recently was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

Flying Lotus has been receiving acclaim for his second full album 'Los Angeles'(warp records,2008).
His first album '1983' and follow-up ep 'Reset EP' were released in 2006 and 2007 respectively.

Ableton And Serato Join Forces

Ableton and Serato, two well respected names in digital DJing, have joined forces to create what they hope will be the ultimate in live computer performance. The companies plan to offer a versatile platform that should outperform the new Native Instruments Traktor Scratch Pro software.

It is being said that this could lead to a product that will allow DJs to utilize Ableton’s infinite loop possibilities while using Serato.
