Check Out Gorillaz - Stylo (Chiddy Bang Remix)

So far every remix of the song I have loved. It's a great track. I cannot wait to hear how the rest of the album is going to sound. Enjoy!

Woman Stabs Boyfriend With Her Heels

Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England - 28-year-old Gavin Taylor was struck in the head by his girlfriend while riding in a taxi cab in early morning hours after a night out in Huddersfield. The heel of the stiletto is believed to have touched his eye, passed through his eye socket, and touched his brain.

A spokesman for the West Yorkshire Police is quoted to have said, "At around 2 am on Sunday, police received reports of a serious assault which occurred in a vehicle traveling to Huddersfield town centre."

Taylors' girlfriend, 33-year-old Stacy Hargreaves, has been charged with wounding with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Taylor was rushed to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary then transferred to Leeds General Infirmary. At last report, he was listed as stable but in critical condition.

About five years ago, Taylor had been jailed for sixteen months for taking part in what was to have been a "joke" that turned into the drowning of a "loner"  who had been terrified of the water. The victim, Chris Mattison was a 42-year-old father of three, who had been dangled over the River Thame and left to drown when the line holding him broke. Taylor had admitted to false imprisonment.

Something For Your Ears - Ya Za

Ilyasin Zarifa, aka "Ya Za", is an artist who grew up in Nashville, TN. She describes her sound as "well-rounded," with influences such as; Prince, Pat Benatar, Stevie Wonder, and Annie Lennox, as well as many others.

The track below, "Bipolar," is set to become a DJ favorite. It's (in my opinion) a fun track with a great danceable rhythm. The vocals are pretty clear and not overdone (or over-processed) like some of the usual dance music out there.  The album Bipolar In Stereo is available now. Hopefully, this will be an artist we will hear from for quite some time.

Flashback : Android Lust - Stained

I cannot recall when exactly I first saw this video.  However, I do know that watching it made me more interested in who Android Lust was. It's an eye-catcher. I think music and lyrics are beautiful. "Stained" is off of her 2002/2003 album, The Dividing.

Dr Dre Suing Death Row

Rapper/Producer Dr Dre has reportedly filed suit against Death Row Records. The suit claims that since he left the label in 1996 he has not been paid royalties for his 1992 album, The Chronic. He also claimed that the 2009 reissue, The Chronic: Re-Lit, was released without his consent.

In the suit, Dre claims that his lawyers notified the new owners of the label, WIDEawake, about not being paid the royalties and they have yet to pay him.

Howard King, Dr Dre's (real name Andre Young) lawyer, said in a statement,  "When it comes to paying artist royalties and honoring limits on Dr Dre recordings that could be released, the "new" Death Row Records, to quote out client, 'forgot about Dre'. This lawsuit will make sure they remember."

Dr Dre is suing for at least $75,000.

Deathrow Records/WIDEawake Entertainment has yet to release a statement.

Kittie

I had been holding out a bit posting something but, for Valentine's Day, I figured this would be a good time. The bands' latest album, 'In The Black', has been out since September 2009. It is definitely one of my favorite releases from last year. In honor of this holiday, I thought I would share a couple of favorites off of the album.

Slipknot - Snuff

Here is the video for "Snuff" by Slipknot. The short film is from a song off of the All Hope Is Gone album. I think that this is a beautiful track. It can be seen by some fans as a put-off for being so mellow, some sighting that maybe vocalist Corey Taylor should have used it for Stone Sour. I think that it is a fine fit under the Slipknot name.

For those who just need to push things a bit harder, here is the video for "Sulfur," which is also from All Hope Is Gone.

Something For Your Ears - Sybreed

Sybreed is an industrial band that formed in 2003 in Geneva, Switzerland by guitarist Drop and singer Benjamin. The band has three albums out, 2004's "Slave Design", 2007's "Antares", and 2009's The Pulse Of Awakening.  I like their sound and the lyrical content. Here are two tracks that I am really enjoying these days.

I haven't gotten this album. At least, not yet. I am still deciding if I should. I do like the band but honestly, I don't know how I feel about the sounds I am hearing.

Here is the video for the new single, "Beautiful Thieves." The album, Crash Love, is available now. What do you think about it?

Useless Fact Of The Week

Did you know???
AOL Time Warner owns the copyright of “Happy Birthday To You” and will continue to do so until 2030 when the copyright expires. This is the  reason movies most often use different songs for birthday scenes. AOL Time Warner earns over $2 million per year from royalties for the song.

Night Of The Demons - Trailer

Let me just say what I am thinking about this one.... this looks bad. REALLY BAD. But, here is the trailer for the remake of the 1988 movie of the same name. It looks cheesy to me.

The trailer shows a date of October 2009 at the end but it is now out as of Feb 1. It stars Shannon Elizabeth and Edward Furlong. You will just have to decide for yourself if this is really worth seeing.

Something For Your Ears – Infected Mushroom

Infected Mushroom is an electronic group who fuse rock and dance. They have been labeled psy-trance but I don’t believe in labels all that much. Here is a track that is quite catchy off of their release, “The Legend of the Black Shawarma.”
