Man Ticketed For Cursing
Joseph Loflin of Texas City, Texas was ticketed recently for cursing when confronting his neighbor. Loflin confronted his neighbor, Michael Rainey, after finding cat feces in his backyard.
"'Your cat has been back there defecating in my back yard,'" Loflin said he told his neighbor. "I used the slang word, the four-letter word to describe what the cat was doing." Rainey said his 13-year-old daughter was within earshot of the conversation. "I said, 'Look, I've asked you twice. This is the third time. Don't use that language in front of my daughter. That's when he responded, 'There's nothing wrong with the word, and if I want to use the word, I'll use the word.'"
Charged with disorderly conduct, Loflin said,"I didn't call him a filthy name. I didn't call him... I didn't use any profanity towards him. I used it as a noun, then I used it as an adverb to describe what his cat was doing. I think it was greatly taken out of context."

Beware What You Buy....
A 42-year-old man had been arrested in London recently for spraying a mix of feces and urine on food, wine, and children's book in several British stores. The unemployed chemist, Sahnoun Daifallah, has been sentenced to nine years in prison after being found guilty of four counts of contaminating goods.
A court found that Daifallah carried the mix of his waste in a container of weed killer concealed in a laptop bag with a nozzle poking out of the bag. He was thus able to spray large areas, leaving a powerful stench and causing tens of thousands of pounds (dollars) worth of damage.
Daifallah's first target was The Air Balloon pub and restaurant near Cheltenham in western England around lunchtime. He next visited a bookstore in Cirencester, dousing hundreds of books — many of which were in the children's section. Two days later he struck in Quedgeley, where a customer spotted him squirting the frozen french fries at a supermarket. He then drove four miles to another supermarket, where an employee in the wine section noticed him acting suspiciously and reported an overpowering stench.
Police were able to identify Daifallah using security camera footage. When they raided his home, they found a stockpile of the substance and plans to spread it. Plastic bags containing excrement were marked with the names of cities on them.
He represented himself in court and plead guilty. He was labeled a high risk to public safety by Britain's security agencies and deportation prceedings have begun.

Gasoline has no specific freezing point . It will freeze at any temperature between -180 and -240 degrees Fahrenheit. When gasoline freezes, it never solidifies totally, but instead will resemble gum or wax.

Kurt
It has been 15 years......
I remember when I first heard the news. I was watching MTV after a boring day at school. Unplugged was on....it was Nirvana. I had an idea.... with my newest disposable camera I was going to practice taking pictures of the t.v. I didn't know why I felt compelled to do it. Then, after the episode MTV News Breaking News.... Kurt Loder delivers the news.... my heart sank.
I developed the film. I got two decent pictures. There is something haunting in one of them. It was one of those moments where Cobain looks up at the camera and almost looks completely at peace. I still have that picture. Because of the t.v. lighting and the lighting from the stage.... there's this blueish haze around Kurt. It's ghostly in my opinion.....and sad.
I wasn't just some crazed fan of Nirvana. I felt a lot in the lyrics, the music, the truth that was in Kurt's eyes. It's a shame what fame can do to you.
I wanted to post a video... one that still after all this time affects me a little. I find it as haunting as the picture I took. Unfortunately Universal Music Group won't let me embed it from YouTube. That and well....there's Courtney...(if you know what I mean). Tonight I am listening to as much Nirvana as I can cram in....a reminder that I am older now than Kurt was when he died. Reminding myself to live my life. Taking in the lesson.
Here's the link: You Know You're Right

Chris Cornell And Trent Reznor
"You know that feeling you get when somebody embarrasses themselves so badly YOU feel uncomfortable? Heard Chris Cornell's record? Jesus." -- Trent Reznor (twitter)

Recently former Soundgarden/Audioslave singer Chris Cornell spoke to The Washington Post
where he spoke about his new album, Scream -"I think it's pretty obvious. I did the math as soon as I made the decision to make that record.", the critics, Trent Reznor,- .."That's kind of childish. To be honest, if I wanted to go out to blast records that I hate, I would be sitting on Twitter 24 hours a day blasting 96 percent of what comes out -- maybe 98 percent of what comes out. (Laughs.) There's a lot of music that I don't like.", working with Timbaland, and Soundgarden.
It is unclear to me when exactly this interview occurred. However it does seem that there was some bitterness in it.
I am all for artists to continue to recreate themselves. I was willing to give the album a listen and give a little review here on the blog. I couldn't. I could not sit through the album. It made me uncomfortable.
I will leave this to all of you to decide.
In what looks like the final say in this matter......
We will always have Trent's April Fool's Day joke.

Music May Help After A Stroke
Researchers in Britain recently have said that stroke patients may be able to restore their vision by listening to music they like.
Three patients, who lost awareness of half of their field of vision, were studied at the Imperial College London. The patients were able to identify shapes and lights in the side of vision that was depleted much more accurately when they listened to music they liked than when there was silence or music they did not enjoy.
Functional MRI scans showed that listening to pleasant music as patients performed the visual testing that areas of the brain linked to positive emotional stimuli was activated. The activation of those regions coupled with the improvement of the patients' awareness of the visual world.
Dr. David Soto, lead author, said in a statement, "Music appears to improve awareness because of its positive emotional effect on the patient, so similar beneficial effects may also be gained by making the patient happy in other ways."
