From one of my e-mails I got....
OBITUARY OF THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain
Why the early bird gets the worm
Life isn't always fair
Maybe it was my fault
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies:
Don't spend more than you can earn
And reliable strategies:
Adults , not children, are in charge
His health began to deteriorate when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly
children. It declined even further when schools were required to get
parental consent to administer Tylenol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a
student but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became
contraband, churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when it became punishable for you to defend yourself from a burglar in your own home
but the burglar could sue you for assault.
He began to lose ground rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 -year- old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly
student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to
realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her
lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his Daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To blame, and I'm A Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing...

Napster Lowers Prices
Online music service, Napster, is set to drop the price of its least-expensive subscription music plan from $12.95 down to $5.
This low-cost subscription plan will allow users access to unrestricted streaming of its 7 million-song catalog and a new offering of five DRM-free downloads per month.
This plan is currently restricted to U.S. subscribers at this time.
The premium subscription will still cost $14.95 for users who would like to take content with them on portable devices (The i-pod is still not included).
At this time it is unclear if those subscribers will have the same access to the low-cost subscribers with the five free downloads.

Hey Willie...Where's My Phone?

Former Geto Boys rapper, William 'Willie D' James Dennis, was arrested at Bush Intercontinental Airport after he was indicted for his relationship with a company named Texas One Wireless.
He is now currently facing 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on charges that he ran an Internet scam. Sources say that Dennis was posing as an electronic salesman and used eBay to interact with international buyers.
Allegedly he conducted business transactions independently and outside of eBay to taking orders for iPhones and other electronics. He sent tracking numbers but customers got nothing. Funds were being transferred to his bank account.
Dennis would tell complaining consumers that the packages were lost in the mail, and/or that he could not refund their money until he located the products, and then he would eventually cease communications with the victims.
Random Thoughts
There are just a few things I have been pondering.... feel free to comment with any answers or other queries...
Now that DMX has been released... how long until he is back in jail? Will someone step in to try to keep the man out of trouble?
How can a Dunkin' Donuts have no donuts? If you don't close for another 2 hours...why don't you have at least one type of donut on the shelf to offer?
Why do all the guys on some of the last few covers of AP look like 12 year old girls?
Why do so many music magazines now suck?
I can't wait until I see NIN in June....
After hearing the new Crystal Method album.... why can't I decide if it is good, bad, or just ok?

Michael Jackson Being Sued x 2
"Unfortunately, Mr. Jackson has elected not to honor the financial obligations of our contractual relationship despite my numerous attempts to amicably resolve this matter. I am sincerely disappointed in Mr. Jackson's failure to honor his obligations," says Michael Jackson's former publicist and business manager, Raymone Bain in a statement.Bain is suing Jackson for $44 million.
Meanwhile, actress Ola Ray, who played Jackson's girlfriend in the video for his hit song "Thriller," is suing him as well. She claims claims she didn't get a fair share of the royalties for her part in the hit clip.
Why now are they suing him? Shouldn't they have done this before....or is it just because of those "Thriller" plays that were done or because of these upcoming shows in England?
I can understand the business manager....but Ray? She should have read the contract probably. Either that or acted better in the role. Sorry.

Shocking Kids -- not funny
A man in Oregon has been accused of using a dog shock collar on his four children. The man, 41, has been jailed on charges of criminal mistreatment.
The children, who are all younger than age 10, are now in the custody of their mother.
The man acknowledged putting the collar on his children and shocking them at least once. He said he didn't do it as punishment but rather because he thought it was funny.
_____
(I can think of somewhere to put that collar.)

First I would like to say congratulations to Trent Reznor for the special achievement Webby Artist of The Year Award. From the Webbys :
The Webby Awards is thrilled to honor Trent Reznor with the Webby Artist of the Year Award in recognition of his album, The Slip, which debuted for free download in May 2008 on his website. By making his music available to fans for free, Trent Reznor embraced the true openness of the Internet, similar to the release of the album Year Zero, which launched with an award-winning alternate reality game. Trent Reznor's ability to connect with fans far and wide through the Web makes him a qualified ambassador of online culture, and arguably one of the most-recognized artists harnessing the power of the Internet to spread music.
Also, congratulations to:

It Wasn't The Neighbors?
An elderly man in Germany called police to report his neighbors for playing the same song over and over. He felt his neighbors were intentionally trying to annoy him.
Upon investigation the police found that it was not his neighbors but merely a greeting card on his windowsill. Whenever a slight breeze went by it opened the card just enough to play a little song.
The 82-year-old man was pleased to find out it wasn't his neighbors and that the case was solved.
I bet he was a bit embarrassed as well....

T-Pain As Frylock???
This sounds scary to me....
Rapper (?) T-Pain has landed a role in the upcoming season finale of Adult Swim's "Aqua Teen Hunger Force."
The show, which is set in New Jersey, follows three anthropomorphic fast food menu items – Frylock, Master Shake and Meatwad – along with their next-door neighbor Carl Brutananadilewski.
T-Pain will star as Frylock alongside actor Jon Benjamin as Master Shake. After winning a Burger-King sponsored casting call in 2008,Dave Long Jr. will play Carl.
The episode is to be a special live-action episode and is set to air May 31.

Yusuf Islam... the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens thinks that the Coldplay song, "Viva La Vida" sounds like one of his songs.
Islam told Reuters recently, "My son brought it to my attention and said: 'Doesn't that sound like 'Foreigner Suite?'"
So is he going to sue now? "it depends on how well (Joe) Satriani does."
I am sure that one song sounds like many different songs...
Guitarist Satriani has accused Coldplay of recycling original portions of his song, "If I Could Fly", and is currently seeking damages.

DMX Ordered To Pay
Recently a judge ordered currently incarcerated rapper, DMX, to pay $240,000 in damages to a man he assaulted in JFK airport.
Port Authority officers arrested DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, for posing as an FBI agent and using a fake police siren to pull over Sergei Priporin and his family at the airport.
Simmons claimed he pulled them over because he was making them late for his flight. He was in possession of Oxycodone, Diazepam, crack, and a billy club at the time of his arrest.
Richard Corde, X's lawyer, told the website TMZ, "Mr. Simmons still feels justified in pulling them over when they didn't get out of his way... he's not apologizing for that. The gentleman driving should have gotten out of his way."
At this time X is serving a 90-day jail sentence for drug possession, theft, and animal cruelty.
