"Scooby Doo, Where Are You!" was originally thought up as  "Mysteries Five," a show featuring five teens and their dog named Too Much who were in a band. When "The Mysteries Five" (which included the dog) were not performing they would solve mysteries of the paranormal kind. Needless to say after a few name changes and tweeks, "Scooby Doo, Where Are You!" finally got its debut on Saturday, September 13, 1969. 

Trailer - Takers

Starring Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, and Idris Elba, "Takers" is a movie centering around a group of criminals who allude police bank robbery after bank robbery. Will a hardened detective (Dillon) foil the next robbery and solve the case? 

"Takers" is set for release Feb 19, 2010.

Dread - Trailer

Dread is based on a short story from Clive Barkers’ Books of Blood Volume II.


The story centers on three college students who decide to do a study on fears. The movie is due out January 29, 2010.

Something For Your Ears – Gramophonedzie

 Marko Milicevic  started out fifteen years ago as a dj. In 2000 he was honored by the RedBull Music Academy to become a student and to learn more about production. Now, at age 30, after four years under the alias, Gramophonedzie, he is releasing the single, “Why Don’t You,” on Feb 22nd.  It samples the 1943 song by Peggy Lee “Why Don’t You Do Right?”. I like how this is put together. It’s very catchy. Hope you enjoy it.

Upcoming Release – Beastie Boys

Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 was to have come out in 2009. But due to illness (Adam Yauch’s bout with cancer, unable to tour) it had been pushed back and will be reportedly released this year. Part 2 is said to be ready for release as well. As a fan this is something I look forward to hearing.

Looks like they finally finished it. In earlier reports it almost seemed as if this movie was not going to be made. Well, surprised as some of you may or may not be here it is... 

The movie stars Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley, Jessica Biel, and Quinton Jackson. It is set for release June 11, 2010.

Something For Your Ears - Film Noir World

Film Noir World is a one man production from Nottingham, England. His music is reminicent of old school beautiful soundtracks. First up is a track from his newest release (out now!) titled, "Dark Earth." The second is from his first release, "It's Here."  One could never know what you are going to get when you see referenced influences such as Tim Burton, Massive Attack, Portishead, Moloko, and Danny Elfman.  This is definitely an artist to be on the watch for.

Frozen - Trailer

I don't know about this one. A trio of snowboarders get stuck on a chairlift. How will they survive a weekend out in the cold? The resort is closed. This movie stars Kevin Zegers, Shawn Ashmore, Emma Bell. Please watch the trailer and let me know what you think. Would you go see this? It is set for release in February 2010.

Soundgarden To Reunite?

That’s right! As per Chris Cornell’s twitter – Soundgarden has announced that they will be reuniting this year. 

The band recently reunited at one of Pearl Jam’s October Los Angeles shows. The last time that the band played together was in 1997. The last studio album was 1996’s ‘Down On The Upside.’

In the meantime, here are a couple faves.

 

 

 

If this works out… I might even forgive him for that awful album with Timbaland….
